AN ANTI-TRANS HATE GROUP IS HOLDING A FUNDRAISING EVENT ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH IN MANHATTAN
Comic Strip Live on 2nd Ave between 81st & 82nd is hosting a fundraiser for "Gays Against Groomers", an astro-turfed far-right, anti-LGBTQ group notorious for harassing Queer people and families at Drag Story Hour events, marching alongside Proud Boys and Nazis, and proudly seeking to take away the rights of transgender minors and adults.
Hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people increased 52% in 2022 because of hate groups like these escalating and moving into the mainstream.
Donate to protect trans kids and tell the bigots they're not welcome. All proceeds go to New Alternatives in support of LGBTQ+ homeless youth in NYC.
Pledge a donation per transphobe who attends this hateful fundraiser. By turning their fundraiser into one that benefits trans kids, we can help counteract, demoralize, and oppose them.
The capacity of the space they're holding the event is only 164, so if you pledge one nickel per attendee, the most you'll end up giving is 8 dollars and 20 cents. But a lot of us are willing to bet a few dollars per person that this event is only going to draw a handful of bigots with nothing better to do. Figure out how much you're comfortable giving, and pledge a donation!
We'll be standing outside the event, letting the transphobes know just how much money their attendance at the bigot party is helping the people they're trying to hurt.
